Seminole State College
Building “V” Technology Building Remodel
Sanford, Florida
Scope:
The scope of this project included gutting the 2nd floor of a occupied building and preparing it for a different use. The former HVAC and automotive labs became the new Computer LAN room, MIS receiving area, faculty offices, conference center and classrooms. The project also included the complete replacement of mechanical systems and controls for the entire building.
Other design issues included fast tracking for Phase 1 of the project to relocate the LAN and MIS departments into their new spaces during the one-week window of a College break. This required an extremely accelerated design schedule and coordination with the CM to accomplish design, demolition and phased construction of the spaces to meet the schedule without disrupting other activities in the building.
