School Board of St. Lucie County

Ft. Pierce, Florida

Scope:

Upon the purchase of a portion of the vacant Orange Blossom Mall in Ft. Pierce, FLA was contracted to design the space to consolidate offices for the School Board District and Administrative personnel.

To determine the space needs for the 132,000 gsf space previously occupied by a Sears store, FLA conducted multiple days of interviews with all district department heads and other designated personnel, and led design workshops to assimilate and document the information as expeditiously as possible. In addition FLA provided a complete inventory of all existing furniture systems to integrate with new open space plan partitions.

The design objective was to consolidate all district offices and personnel from seven different locations across the county into one building. In addition to offices, the building includes the new district board room, district MIS facility, full service print shop, human resources, student services department and a 100 person meeting hall available to the community. As an alternate for the project, FLA designed tenant build-out space for other potential lessees to the space, including the Supervisor of Elections and local Veterans Association.
