Scope:

The new $10 million, 31,000-square-foot building is scheduled to open in November 2008 and will provide additional classroom and office space for students and faculty. This cutting-edge facility, equipped with the latest technology, will accommodate $2.2 million in academic program growth on campus. This needed expansion enhances current services and resources, including:

- Access to 30+ undergraduate and graduate degree programs

- Higher education opportunities for the traditional and non-traditional student

- State-of-the-art classroom technology

- Cutting-edge distance learning and traditional class settings

 

The new two story Academic / Office Building is approximately 30,000 NSF and will provide large, medium and small classroom spaces to offer more distant learning classes, a District Board of Trustees meeting room/multi-use classroom with overspill in to the Main Lobby for official functions and student activities and advising/career service center.

Site improvements generally include limited landscaping and hardscaping with the new development, utilities and required storm water management accommodations, eighty new parking spaces and walkways. The design of the building includes consideration for solar orientation with regard to the location of glass areas and roof overhangs, with covered walkways providing shading at the ground level on specific elevations.
