Indian River State College Dixon Hendry Campus
The Williamson Center
Okeechobee, Florida
Scope:
Building upon the success of the Richardson Center, a multi-purpose, multi-user facility and the first of it’s kind in Indian River County as a high-tech business, training and conference center, the citizenry of Okeechobee County raised enough private funds to build their own center. The Williamson Center is supported by and in turn supports local businesses, associates and the community. The multi-purpose conference room includes multi-tasking screens that project teleconferences, in-house events, websites, and other sources simultaneously. The conference room opens directly to a large covered veranda. The Williamson’s Center educational program focus is on nursing, and includes classrooms and labs.
A strategic planning room (“war room”) features video projection, teleconferencing and a central control center smart board with connectivity to the smart boards in the four smaller break-out rooms. The one-story, brick structure also includes a reception office and private offices and has a vehicular drop-off loop and large, welcoming lobby which can also be used for events and receptions.
