Scope:

Indian River State College received a sizable grant to help support their commitment to developing this extraordinary educational facility, fostering business innovation and preparing area residents for the jobs created by new and creative ideas and technologies.

Built to Gold LEED national standards for environmental construction, this 3-story, $21.5 million Center is partially powered by a solar panel field and wind turbines. The 67,000 GSF energy-efficient Center houses a Market Analysis Lab, Entrepreneurial Development Lab, Innovation Incubator and Strategic Planning Suites with support services for fledgling high-tech firms.

Along with the Nanotechnology and Micro-Fabrication Laboratory, the BCIE also features Alternative and Nuclear Energies Laboratories offering training in collaboration with Florida Power & Light and other industry partners. Through the Sustainable Building Construction Program, workers who are in need of elevating their skills to a higher level can learn how to integrate the latest energy-saving solutions into construction methods.
